Objectifs et contenu du cours

This course is an introduction to the main methods used in political science research. It aims to familiarize students with the methodological tools they will use throughout their studies. At the end of the session, students should be able to : build a literature search, formulate a scientific puzzle, learn the main methods of social and political science, learn which method is appropriate for a given problem. This introduction to methodology is the gateway to a series of courses offered by the Department in which various methods and techniques will be explored in greater depth. To meet these objectives, “POL1100” will take the form of a three-hour weekly lecture, accompanied by two-hour tutorials in sessions 2, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13. Attendance is compulsory.
