La réconciliation franco-allemande par la jeunesse. 1871-2015.

Paris, Bruxelles, Berlin: Peter Lang 2015

The Elysée treaty of 1963 instituted a reconciliation policy which aimed at bringing together the largest amount of French and German young people. So far, this policy has been analyzed by authors who either a hagiographic or normatively ladden critical stance. This book takes a different stance. It analyzes the genealogy (from 1871 to 1963) and the implementation of this policy (since 1963) by using a Foucaldian approach. It argues that this policy did not revolutionize the course of Franco-German relations. It did, however, orient those relations in a particular way.
